On July 19th, NYACH co-hosted a workshop on our Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) program with NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), and the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMC Health)- the Westchester Medical Center led performing provider system. WMC Health has a strong interest in replicating the CRPA program model and approached NYACH after hearing about the successes of the program thus far. The workshop was targeted at a dual-audience of healthcare providers in the WMC Health network and local educational institutions. Over 50 providers and educators attended in person and via webinar.
In addition to NYACH and OASAS, speakers included our employer partners, Community Care of Brooklyn and Health + Hospitals; the training provider, Queensborough Community College; and FOR-NY, a peer advocacy group. Workshop attendees learned about the CRPA role, the program model, and best practices for successfully integrating this workforce into care delivery models.
The workshop was received very positively with strong audience engagement and interest in program adoption. In response to demand, NYACH and our partners will participate in an hour-long Q&A webinar to answer remaining questions.
